An extra day on leave..Fenwick Island! NOT!

The lovely folks at the car rental place told us it was cheaper to keep the car 7 days instead of 6. After a brief deliberation, we decided to take them up on the offer! So we headed originally for Fenwick Island, DE but these cats wanted $ to park on their beach. No way Josefina! We drove a couple of miles and went to Bethany Beach. We spent a few quarters on a meter. We lucked out with every meter we went to had about 7min of time already on it. We left the meter with about 7min of time on it--paying it forward!

Nice beach...the waves were too rough for LP. Any wave is too much for DT because he can't swim.

Quotes

"Well it's actually cheaper if you keep the car for seven days....."
"Aight we'll take the car."
"1300+ miles! We got our money's worth!"
"Where did you guys go? Um, Pennsylvania and some parks in Maryland. (How about you mind your business?)"

Elk Neck State Park

Boy it was hot! Lighthouse was free and not a challenge compared to the Bunker Hill monument below. They do have a little refreshment stand that sells drinks for decent prices. The park is waaay in the back so you have to keep on driving till the road ends. Nice area, very heartland America. The people seemed nice. Keep straight to go the lighthouse and go to the right to go the "shore".

Quotes

"You are halfway there" (not hardly...more like 25%)
"bla bla bla bla"--Lighthouse guy. Just kidding, he was very friendly.
"Which way do we go?"
"Might as well see where the other path goes"

NewJork: Coney Island

DT's third official visit. Seen Statue of Liberty, Times Square, some of Central Park, rode the subway, and Empire State Building in the other 2. Amazing skyline, huge city, so much to see and do. I need someone to say moige!!

This vist we sorta saw the famous 4th of July hotdog eating contest. Ate a Nathan's hotdog and chilled at Coney Island famous boardwalk! So many people!!! Went to Eleni's cookies but it was CLOSED!!! ARGH! Italian pastries were good anyways!

OH YEA! Also ate at White Castle...excellent burgers.

Quotes:

"MOVE!!! MOVE!!! DON'T MOVE! STAY RIGHT THERE!! THERE'S NOTHING TO SEE HERE!! GET OUT OF THE WAY!! STOP! STOP!"
"We closed...stupid Eleni"
"So I put Lysol into a tropicana bottle. He came home and drank it. (poor guy's kidneys and liver are ruined) "
"I am trying to pay for my college tuition selling candy bars.....look at my college ID" *as he flashes his 1986 community college ID*
"How do I know these are your burgers?"
"She probably acts crazy so that people won't mess with her"

Boston - Walking Town!

Boston is a great place to explore by foot! The freedom trail takes you right through the heart of the city and many of its historic neighborhoods. There are many stopping points and places to see along the way, it is a very enjoyable walk. The subway system although convenient was useless for us since nothing seemed too far so we walked everywhere. Overall, there was much to do and see! It was a great experience!

Take the cheap sunset cruise form Cambridge mall! Go whale watching!

Quotes
"You can't walk to Cambridge from here (theater district/downtown Boston), it's too far"
"294 steps...ok. Lets see what happens"
"Menu reads: $12.99 for a lobster. $16.99 for 2......$16.99 for the ADDITIONAL LOBSTER."
"I need some applause. This isn't easy. My sister is hefty!"
"What are are these rocks for?"
"I'm not taking pictures of graves"
"I think they *dead people* would like (living) people visiting them"
"B.C. Boston crazies"
"BC's come out at night."
"The BCs hang out in the park during the daytime."
"These cats got a tripod (to take pictures) out here. LOL"
"These kids act like this a public pool.....Well they do have about 5 lifeguards to prevent drowning in 6 inches of water."

Bushkill Mountain

Waterfalls are GRAND and BEAUTIFUL!
From www.visitbushkillfalls.com

The "Niagara of Pennsylvania", Bushkill Falls is among the Keystone State's most famous scenic attractions. This unique series of eight waterfalls, nestled deep in the wooded Pocono Mountains, is accessible through an excellent network of hiking trails and bridges which afford fabulous views of the falls and the surrounding forest.

Hiking the trails and viewing the towering 100-foot Main Falls are not the only activities possible on the expansive grounds of Bushkill Falls. Check out the Pennsylvania Wildlife Exhibit, Native American Exhibit, fish Twin Lakes, visit our variety of gift shops, stop at the Fudge Kitchen for delectible sweets in the Wagon Wheel Pavilion, take a paddle-boat ride, or enjoy a round of miniature golf. At Bushkill Falls there's plenty for the entire family to see and do!

TIPS: The drive was pretty easy for a weekend but turned to gridlock when we got on Seven Bridges Road. The reason for the delay turned out to be a poorly timed traffic light! Hopefully they will get this fixed to cut down on the commute to the beautiful area.

DT loves to say nothing when he agrees.

LP: Which way do we go? I think this way.
DT: I think the other way.
LP: I think this way because *lots of map pointing*
DT: Ok, let's get moving.
LP: I think this way *lots of map pointing*
DT: You right. Let get going.
LP: Are you upset?
